First, choose
what you are buying.

MONO does not install terrazzo tiles. Allow for your installer and installation materials separately.

Prepare a
quotation brief.

You do not need every answer before contacting us. Mark unknown items so they can be discussed rather than silently excluded.

  1. Project location and intended use.

  2. Approximate area; if unknown, say so.

  3. Existing floor and known issues; photographs or drawings if available.

  4. Desired appearance or reference, and the physical sample to agree.

  5. Areas, edges, thresholds, skirtings and transitions to discuss.

  6. Site access, sequencing and target programme.

  7. For tiles: required format, quantity, destination and who will install.

Compare quotations
line by line.

Use the same scope for both quotations. A lower headline figure may cover fewer items; a higher figure is not automatically a better specification.

Print this worksheet and leave unknown items open. Use “Included / Excluded / To confirm” as guidance. Neither quote has been filled in.

On smaller screens, scroll the worksheet horizontally. All four columns are included in the print layout.

Three briefs that need
different questions.

Planning examples, not MONO case prices. No scenario is assumed to cost more or less than another.

What needs
to come first?

Gather information about the existing finish, its condition and neighbouring levels.

Clarify whether removal, preparation and transitions are allowed for, and who is responsible.

Who coordinates
the foundation?

Bring the substrate information, drawings and the adjacent-trade requirements available.

Clarify who provides the substrate and coordinates levels, access and sequencing.

What sits outside
the supply price?

Confirm format, quantity, destination and the waste allowance with your installer.

Clarify delivery, handling, preparation, installation materials and separate installer costs.

The final quotation confirms the agreed material, work and price.

A few useful
questions.

How do square-metre and square-foot prices compare?

Ask both suppliers to use the same area unit and measurement basis. A rate alone is only comparable when the material, installation scope, exclusions and taxes also match.

What happens if the scope changes?

Ask for the changed work and its effect on the quotation to be confirmed before proceeding. Recheck preparation, detailing, quantities and exclusions.

Can I compare prices per square metre?

Only when the material, measured area and included scope are comparable. Check the exclusions and any separate costs before treating two rates as equivalent.

Are tiles always cheaper than seamless terrazzo?

No single answer applies to every project. Compare tile supply, delivery and separately contracted installation with the complete agreed seamless scope.

Can I get a fixed price from area alone?

Area is a starting point. Existing conditions, selected material, detailing, access and the agreed scope also need to be understood.

Do you install supplied terrazzo tiles?

No. MONO supplies terrazzo tiles; installation is by others. Seamless terrazzo materials and installation are a separate service.

Can I begin if the area is unknown?

Yes. Share the location, intended use and the information available. Tell us what still needs confirming.
