Let the surface
hold the space.

At MONO, Microcement and Microtopping are one service direction. The project archive keeps the terms used for the original work: microcement at Goshi and microtopping at Gautom Villa. The system and specification are agreed for each project.

A new proposal starts with your setting, the intended use and a physical sample. The photographs are references for the conversation.

Agree the detail.
Then the surface.

Bring the material, preparation and installation into one project brief.

Area and application
Identify each surface and how it will be used. Flag wet areas, exterior exposure and other requirements for assessment.
Existing conditions
Share the substrate, current finishes and known issues. Preparation needs to be included in the agreed scope.
Sample and junctions
Review the colour, texture, edges and transitions together. Confirm the proposal with a physical sample.
Access and programme
Plan the sequence with the other work on site. Agree protection, handover and product-specific care instructions.

A few useful
questions.

What can I learn from the projects shown here?

They show the appearance of named archive projects. They do not establish a system, thickness, treatment or performance specification for your own space.

Can I use the same finish throughout a project?

Discuss each area, its use and the existing surface together. Confirm the proposed material, sample, detailing and installation scope for the areas included.

Can I specify a colour from a photograph?

Photographs are a starting point for a conversation. Review a physical sample under the project lighting before agreeing the colour and finish.

What about bathrooms or exterior areas?

Identify these areas in the brief. Their requirements and the suitability of a specific system must be assessed before they are included in a proposal.

What information helps with a quotation?

Location, approximate area, drawings if available, the existing surface and the intended use. Preparation, detailing, access and programme also need to be agreed.
